I was contacted by a member to make a script, once i completed he stopped responding and didn't pay me for my work.

if i give negative itrader to him, is it possible for him also give a negative itrader for me? ( there is no mistake on my side) I can proove mods also.

Firstly, Mods have nothing to do in your transaction nor they will help you in anything related to your transaction.
Second, it all depends upon the opposite party how he takes your iTrader. He is able to rate you an iTrader lawfully as he has done deal with you.

Anand until today there's no such rule that can protect you from getting a negative itrader in return (even if you are right) so for now if at all he leaves you one, there's nothing u can do.
Source: Myself, faced the same thing despite being right.

Yeah, the system and how it's treated by the MODs is not fair. Got some clearly violating the rules negative iTraders last year by some folks who had been PAID to give me negative iTraders. The issue was treated correctly by a moderator and all those folks have been banned permanently. So far so good, but I am left with those negatives in my history visible to everyone, though false.

iTrader does not mean that you made a mistake, it means that you had a client that was mad enough to leave you a bad one. It is this way because you both have your opinions, he may believe that you made a mistake and he is entitled to his opinion.

Pretty much everyone on DP knows that the rating system is a joke, so don't take it too seriously.

Gawh, how many times does the old "iTrader is a joke" have to be brought up?

Just post a factual explanation of what happened in the thread.

It's also not like we are opposed to changing how it works... just no one has come up with a realistic way to make it better yet. We pretty much just hear, "we don't like it, change it... 'How would you like it to be?' I don't know."

I think it'd be fun if there was a "forum/subsection" related to iTrader Reversals, where users who felt their iTrader wasn't honest/valid could plead their case to other DP members, and once 100 votes either way (it should be reversed / no it shouldn't be reversed) are tallied from other DP members that vote, the thread gets flagged to you if it should be reversed and the thread gets auto-closed if we decide it shouldn't.

Bet you havent heard that idea yet, Shawn :D

Yes, but Shawn is an amazing coder/programmer from what I can tell... I'm sure he could whip something up and put some safeguards in place.

It's always better to give out suggestions rather than just complaining. It would definitely help Shawn and the rest of us if we really want things to improve around here.

Shawn maybe you could try giving the authority to the mods to edit the negative itraders? if the members can prove that the itrader he/she received was given on a false note, mods can reverse it? (while looking into this matter some things that can help would be (Age on the forums, previous history, current posts etc) that can help you get a clear idea about the member, i agree the process can be a bit lengthy but we can at least give it a try and see how well it does.

If negative itrader is given mods should check the mistake is on whose side and only they should have the negative trader...

In my case. i promised 24 hrs and and i completed the work, but before that he got some one cheaper in DP and ignored me. He didn't even reply me. I can give the code even now proving that i am right.

I saw his itrader he has done the same thing to some one else a couple of months earlier and he has given a negative itrader back to the seller for giving a negative itrader.

Even if it takes weeks for the mods to review, its better than not doing at all IMO. The itrader given a very good opinion but shouldn't give false opinion about a person who doesn't have a mistake on his side.

It would be good if we can make a separate section for it, were a special Moderator or Admin is assigned to investigate into the matter when someone requests. And he/she have power to remove a negative iTrader if it was false one.

Simply create a sound moderation system for the iTrader section.. I'm sure Shawn is skilled enough to integrate that into vBulletin.. Although I know nothing of the iTrader mod or vBulettin so maybe I'm wrong..

I see you can already report iTraders but does anything really get done about it?

I know it'd get annoying people reporting all their negatives, but fair enough, if someone cant present a good enough case, just CLOSE the report.. But I have a really good case for an invalid iTrader (ie; never responded to PM's, not even to say they were busy, yet they could reciprocate with negative iTrader within a few hours.. LOL - and the fact that the joint-winner of the auction gave me great feedback and was happy with everything..) and yet I fear I'm stuck with this feedback forever..
