I have had this site up for ages now and wondered if you think it needs a revamp or does it look ok as it is? Any suggestions? It is not getting as much traffic as it used to. Should I somehow create more pages or how can I get more traffic? Does anyone feel like they can't keep up with the changes anymore since there seems to be so many of them? Thank you, Jon
you could try changing colors etc.(dont like em) maybe make the first page shorter. But at the end its your decision. Good luck!
IMO you have to re-design it to something more livelier that will catch your visitors attention. You could make it wider and a bit shorter. Good luck('',)
1) Spellcheck and grammar. 2) I agree with angelfire - make her wider. 3) I agree with both of the previous - make her shorter. Can you either off load any of this content to other pages, or disperse the content more? 4) You've also got a number of validation errors, as well as a slightly improper DOCTYPE declaration. Since this is a template site, I don't know what your feelings are on that, but I'd give a whirl through validation, and if you do care, post back and we'll work through whichever ones need to be worked through. 5) Personal note: I want a summary when I visit these kinds of sites. I get the general idea, and I don't want to read the marketing fluff, so why not give people like me a summary? What will this product do? What comes with it? What's the price? Bang, bang, bang, done. It's a dream, true, but ...
I sell an ebook from this site and I have been wondering if I should convert it to a monthly paid membership site. So many dilemmas! That would greatly influence the design of the site. Yes, shorter and wider have been considered. However, a couple of years ago I did a test and split the pages into 5, with Next buttons on the bottom. Sales fell. But, maybe nowadays sales may be better as more pages will be indexed. I gotta do something with the site as sales are currently rubbish.
Sorry I didn't get back to this sooner, but, can you elaborate on the monthly paid membership? What would be the monthly perks of this? If you're selling an eBook, I get a subscription, download the eBook, and cancel my subscription. Where's the added benefit? (I'm sure I'm just missing some bit of information.) Also, I wouldn't cut the content into a bunch of pages - just a couple. Show me a couple of testimonials, but let me view another page to see them all. Break content up that way. If I have to hit a bunch of 'Next' links to view all the content, I'm going to get sick of that, very fast. Example: http://www.mkygod.com/matrixgits/index.html (although, I can see why it's a benefit in this case, it's nonetheless a pain - at least if you've got a fast connection ). ~
To me this is your basic affiliate site. Running copyscape yours seems to be unique in content but it looks like every other one of these sites. It reminds me of Costas Dedes and his scam sites. I know yours isn't but why give that type of feeling?
A monthly membership site would have the content on the website rather than an ebook so you couldn't download it all on day one. It might look like this site: http://www.garynorth.com - get the idea? What do you mean by basic affiliate site? If you mean the site has a scam type of feeling because of the long sales letter, then I can understand your views. However, I tested it and when I broke up the site into pages, sales dropped. There was a science behind the long page. Unless you mean the header looks scammy or something.
Re your question to me, somewhat. Looking at the site you provided, this looks like a paid subscription to a specialized forum. As long as you have active members, you'll have new content on a regular basis, and therefore a value in purchasing a subscription. I guess I don't really see that in your site - at least based upon what I can see.
There is no new regular content on my ebook. It is a static product. My suggestion was that I convert it to a monthly membership site with regular new content. I am just not sure what is the best business model.
Gotcha. Well, can you provide regular new content without substantial cost to yourself? That's the only question you have to answer. Best of luck.
