    Hi,

    We have some plans to make our software 100% open sourced and release the new version under GPL v3 license and use the donation approach instead? Would you donate if you find esyndicat directory script useful? :)

    No. I think you should keep pushing the product and make it better as the money comes. I am not familiar with it, but this is my opinion as there are a bunch of open-source CMS and plugins for opening a directory. I have recently started three different niche local directories using free open-source platforms and they ALL suck! If the biggest ones suck then I wouldn't count on open-source as a way of making your product better by bringing in outside developers.
