I have been a regular reader of this forum and I have just created an account so I can ask a question. I run/have run several websites that return a monthly income, however I have a domain which I am lost on. OnlineCashGroup . Com I like the domain BUT I can not make my mind up on how to develop the site, should I start a forum, blog, directory etc etc. As I already run sites I have all the knowledge on servers, scripts, designs, php, mysql etc etc, the only problem is I can not make my mind up on which direction to go in. What are your thoughts on the domain, and if you had it what would your development ideas be. Many Thanks
with that kind of name i would love to have wordpress installed on it and then some cool articles being posted every week...and a sub domain like forum.OnlineCashGroup.Com to discuss about things related to finance
Good idea, I will bear that in mind. Never worked with wordpress I will look into it. Due to the 'Group' part of the name I thought I membership (free of course) site would be better. Good idea though, thanks.
The best way i believe which works for me, are looking at other sites similiar to what you want yours to be like. Forum- difficult to begin with,(Great for SEO) however if the right marketing is done traffic will increase and the forum should go up from there, which will hopefully build a community like DP. But its getting the right audience and HUGE amounts of traffic. By doing emails, posting links to other blogs, link exchange, directories etc.... Blog- There is too much content that is either the same or has been re- writen. Your article writing has to be unique in which the readers can tell that this is new infomation and not re-written. I believe if you articles are unique in information and you style of writting draws attention to your viewers then the blog will rocket, if not it will just go down down and down Directory- Great way to start online marketing/affliate programs, however their are thousands of new directories popping up, i believe once again your direcory has to offer somthing unique/diffrent. Traffic is the main objective in directories more people want to join if your site gains more traffic, if it doesnt then they won't.
All good and valid points. If I am honest I fancy the forum route, I know it will take hard work ( which I am not frighted off, in fact I like the challenge) to build a solid membership. I understand that there are hundreds of forum based sites around catering for the Online Money world, however I feel I could make a success of it, be it small or large.
start off with searching/looking at other forums based on your theme, that will get you a good idea Hope you succeed in your forum
