hi, since i'm new to seo i have doubt regarding page rank if the home page pr is 7 and forums page pr is 4 (same site), then which pagerank is considered. Since it is a dofollow forum i need this for my seo steps thanx in advance for all your suggestions
Each page has its own separate PR, further PR itself is used to measure the quality of ones website and plays a major role in giving/receiving backlinks.
It's the forum's page rank that's considered, but you need to make it clear that the forum has a page rank that's different from the home page. Having different ranking for the home page and forum is good because it shows the site is useful for different things. Just be sure you tell your customers that you're linking from the forum with PR4 and that the site's home page rank is different - most will not have a problem, especially if they can verify it themselves.
Home page is more weight-age than the other pages ,even if your inner pages has the higher PR.. Primary keyword/niche on home page and secondary keyword/theme on the inner pages Write some quality content and share it with social networks (Not social bookmark submission)
Forum page PR .. as it is the section where you would be commenting and posting your links. Main page pr comes into picture but is secondary to forums in this case.
PageRank is only one of hundreds of factors search engines use to determine the rank of the website, it is really only relevant if you intend to sell links
hi buddy, well countless myths gets passed around the web regarding precisely your question.. in fact, its an excellent doubt to have since I came across it some time ago... in my experience.. the ONLY Pagerank that really matters is that from the homepage.. so if you are going thru a dofollow site with a PR7 homepage.. then you´re getting a PR7 backlink regardless of the place where you place your backlink into that site.. my best wishes on your backlinking venture Cheers to all..
