Hey guys,

Few questions raised, when I was doing keyword research:

1) Which one match should be proper? (Broad - Phrase - Exact)

2) If exact match is good then how much search should be considered proper for Local Monthly search, if I target U.S. Country?

3) If I search on Google in double quote then what is minimum no of competitors should be proper or defeat?

Going to create site on article writing so I should be cleared with these terms before choosing any targeted keyword.

Please, don't say contact to SEO person.

Hi,

There is no definite answer, it all depends how competitive and valuable the keyword you are targeting is. You must also consider whether your keyword is something that will generate money.

However, I can give you simple guidance to your questions:

1) Exact
2) At least 2,000
3) No more than 7,000

1. Use broad + phrase. This will help you to copy your searches directly into google for search with quotes.
2. You have to decide that how many visitors you require on your website.
3. It also depends on your skills and knowledge of SEO. To me its around 40,000. For a beginner it may be around 10000

Do run an adword campaign for at least 1 week to confirm actual number of search per month. it will help eliminate guess work.

 

Adwords requires you to test the market first, if any product is converting good then it is good for you so you have to think of this, you need to have good money too.
