Hi all, I wrote a guide 'how to submit' a site to Lola directory and I would love to hear your opinion if it makes any sense... To read the guide you need to go to the submit page and then click on the 'read the guide' link Thanks for your help!
To start with, that link for a guide is invisible. It's the same as rest of the text. Make it stand out, otherwise people won't know that there is a guide And guide is a bit too long. Try to make it as short as possible.
I couldnt have done it better... Thats is a very descriptive submission guide and would even have a layman understand.. Like Veloity said, just make the link more visible
Nice, just one thing I found a bit irritating... You start off by saying... "Lola directory is a bit different from a regular directory." Ok, no problem, got it. You then start paragraph two by saying "In Lola directory it works a bit different." Yeah, I won't forget, read that 20 seconds ago. But you then go on to say... "But as we said it works a bit different in Lola directory." Yep, 3 times now! Sorry, maybe I'm too tired or just a pedantic ass, I just found it a bit irritating Other than that, you just need to fix this line in the last paragraph: "When you will finish you will have in the bottom of the page the total cost for your submission." Would look better like this.... "When you finish, the total cost for your submission will be displayed at the bottom of the page." One thing that wasn't clear was whether or not you accept deep linking. Yeah sure I could go and read the FAQ too, but it would probably be more helpful if you added a note in this guide too.
got the message I removed the duplicated 'we do it different'... Thanks for the remarks - it helps a lot. I've also changed the link so it looks more visible. Thanks for your help!
Perhaps I'm losing the plot but isn't a directory a systematically organized list of information in our case websites that provides descriptions and similar information? I do like the novel idea but it doesn't have a place in the directory world. Just my 2 cents.
