I'm new to paypal and if I want to use paypal to receive payments from my clients what type of paypal account is better ? I have heard there are 2 types Business and personal ?! Its mainly for receive small amounts of payments like between $10 - $100. hope to hear some advice
If you do not plan to recieve any payments from a credit card or debit card etc., you can go with a personal. If you plan to recieve payments from those a lot, then you will need a premier or business account. You can have one of each though. One personal and one premier or business.
I guess I'm not going to recieve payments from credit cards i can go for a personal account. Whats about withdrawing money from paypal to a bank account ? is it hard ? wut're their rates ?
By right, if you are selling anything, you cannot use the Personal Paypal account for it. If you do, just make sure you do not get caught. The reason why it is called Personal is because it is for private individuals and private individuals do not sell things but just buy them, thus there is no fees when receiving funds from friends through the Personal account. When you do business, you will need to pay a fee. Seriously, you will want to accept credit cards because only about 40 odd countries out of the 190 countries can receive payments and thereby have the possibility of having paypal balance. Also only those who actually sell things and not withdraw their balance will have paypal balance because not everyone is a seller and if you do not sell anything, you will always have a zero dollar balance in your paypal account. So if you do not want to receive credit card payments, you will seriously restrict your customer base to a very small base until who you are selling to are selling things through paypal too. Before you do anything, take a look at this Paypal FAQ https://www.paypal.com/helpcenter/m...lutionTopic=20067&solutionId=12797&isSrch=Yes That is very clear cut there. So if you do, don't break the rules. There are some accounts restrictions at Paypal and not all countries are allowed to withdraw to a bank account. Check this list https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-approved-signup-countries-outside to see if your country supports withdrawal to a bank account. If you can, it is very easy to do and the rates used would depend on that's day's foreign exchange rates (if you are not from the US or when your local currency is not the same currency as the Paypal currency). Foreign exchange would include an additional 2.5% in foreign exchange fees above the paypal's bank's exchange rates. All payments will be sent to your account in local currency. http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-fees-outside
Thanks Eddy for great advice and thanks for Slacker too. I receive payments for small online services like flash cards or SEO. Amouts are like $20 -$100. most are direct contacts. So what type of paypal Business Solutions I should take ?
Well, if you do have a registered company with a bank account associated with that company then the Business Account would be appropriate, otherwise the Premier account has everything the business account has but does not require you to register a business. As for what Business Solution to use would depend on how your deals are made with your customers. If the pricing varies and require you to manually evaluate each customer or sit down with them to determine what they need and thereby getting the final figure then use the Paypal Invoicing Tool. If they are straightforward standard pricing, you can always use the Buy Now button or the Shopping Cart options.
Well i don't have a registered business and work as a Freelancer. my requirement is let my clients to use paypal i mean for who has accounts. for international clients and deals are simple like they offer me a price for a deal i say ok or not or i offer a price. mostly done by email or chat i could receive money by giving them my paypal email address so they can send the payment. I have to tell this part too. I cant use paypal to receive money in my country. So i already asked a friend of mine to make a account for himself so i can send money there by giving email address. he would keep and run the account i would simply ask my client to send payment to that account. I ll track all deals by the email address which use for paypal account. So the account should be a Premier account ? .
Well, personally I would believe the best thing to do is not to get your friend involved here and also not use Paypal in this case. Paypal does not approve your country to receiving payments via paypal, there is definitely a reason to this. There is risks involved in 3 way deal which you proposed because it is possible that your friend can cheat you of the money or you may get your customers suspicious because most people rather deal with one party rather than do a 3 way deal. It may get your friend in trouble when Paypal asked them for documentations for the contracts. Find some other payment methods with which you can work legally with.
well its my clients suggested this coz they don't like use other ways for such a small amounts and they don't like e-gold or any other things. I just don't want to loose the clients. Friend is 100% trusted one i have no doubts about him. I take care of his sites and all online work so he is willing to help me in this. I know another person who use same method he is a gem dealer but use this method to deal with his clients he has done it now like 5 years without trouble. I asked him about his experience and was told that he got into trouble only once in early days he tried to login to the account. they had frozen the account and has send a email the guy who made it about the attempt. Eddy I'm really great full for yr advice. I wont do it without making sure about everything. what did you mean by It may get your friend in trouble when Paypal asked them for documentations for the contracts ? How people who has no written contracts use pay-pal ? 1000's of web masters use pay pal for trade in all major forums and how they prove ? .
