I am planning to upgrade it to vbulletin from smf and it have following questions:

do see potential in this forum?

do see any drawback?

what are main source of income from forums?

Can I ask why you are comptemplating "upgrading" to vB?

 

Hmm it´s a very new forum i don´t know if you are going to have any succes with it but i hope you´ll have.

 

My advice.

Don't upgrade to vBulletin, you just have a few posts so you would be better off doing a fresh install, or not changing at all.

I would only convert if you have over 3000 posts, anything under that and there is no point.

As already mentioned, your foumr is very new and has very few posts. You cannot deem whether your forum will be successful or not from that amount. I would suggest you wait to see if your forum catches on, and then wait till it grows before you even think about an upgrade.

My honest advice is this - scrap the SMF, domain, and skin. Start with a better domain and vbuletin from scratch.
