Hey guys, I just installed a wordpress blog on one of our site(not the one in my signature). blog.mysite .com This is the first blog I've created and I really don't know what to do then. Would you recommend to install any plugins. If yes, which one? Thanks in advance
You can start with All in One SEO plug in, you will need that one. Most others will depend on what functions you need...do you need a contact form? then I suggest Contact form 7. It's hard to tell you what to install without knowing what you want to do.
Hmansfield, I just installed your suggested "All in one" plugin, Thanks a Lot! I don't need a contact form. What I mainly want is SE visit the site and index the pages. I'm not building it for getting a traffic, just for backlinks from posted articles. Any other suggestions? Thanks
You can also try YARRPP (Yet Another Related Post Plug In), it lists related posts at the bottom of each post..helps with retaining readers to check out other posts, and SEO Smart Links, you can set it up to automatically link terms that you set, to URL's that you set...for instance you can set it up so that every time the word "mortgages" is present, it will automatically link to any URL that you set up.
