Ok, so, I made this huge thread with examples about what I need done, but when I clicked submit it got erased, so here is a quick outline. I am building a directory, and I have States as Categories, Cities as SubCategories, and Neighborhoods as SubSubCategories. I have business types for Taxonomies and the Posts are businesses. So, imagine this California (state) --->Los Angeles (city) --->Beverly Hills (neighborhood), and Business Type ---> Bars or Hotels or Restaurants. An example of a post could be "Sunny Bar" and it could be listed under the category Beverly Hills AND the taxonomy Bars. Now, I need to be able to filter the posts in BOTH a Category AND a Taxonomy. Example: "Bars IN Beverly Hills" or "Hotels IN California". I would like to have a "filter list" on the side, so that when someone clicks on a category, they will be able to click on a business type (such as hotels) to see the businesses listed in that category under that business type (ie. hotels in california, or hotels in beverly hills). A quick note - I can do that by manually typing the following URL: example.com/category/?taxonomyname=taxonomyterm so in my case it's: example.com/california/?businesstype=hotels But I would like the visitors to be able to get there by clicking on links on the site... and without having to type URLs of course... Also, I would like it to have "pretty permalinks". So: example.com/california/?businesstype=hotels should be example.com/hotels/california Note 1: I can currently filter by taxonomy AND category using a plugin called Taxonomy Drill Down which generates a widget with this function, so I know that it can be done, but I want to do it without a plugin. Note 2: If you can do this, then you obviously know what you are doing, so I may ask you to help me with one more thing... So, if you can do this, send me a PM and tell me how much it will cost and how long it will take. My budget is very limited and I need this done super quick, so if you cannot do it cheap and quickly, then I may just have to use the plugin instead. Thanks!
