    Hello,
I just semi completed this site and I was hoping for some feed back if any of you have some time you could spare. THis is actually a redesign. The first site was way to busy so I desided to strip it down a little and focus on one/two things for the time being. I was offering graphic design and several other things. I wanted to focus more on simplicity this time around.

    http://greatfxmedia.com

There are some very minor issues in Safari and FireFox that will be corrected shortly.

    Thank you in advance!
    KC

I think that your logo need a bit of work. I would make the name much clearer. Rather than combining the T & F make the Keep the words separate. Great FX Media. The FX could use a different font or color or something.

    Hi River,
It is funny that you mentioned that. I was just discussing that with someone in the office. Almost identical! Even the FX being a different font. Weird. Anyway, so you think it is difficult to read that way? I think I agree with you river. Thank you very much for your input. I really do appreciate it.

    Thank You

I think it would be great if you added a few testimonials from some satisfied customers
    on the landing page.

    Hello kingofsanda,
I always forget that! Thank you for reminding me. Great idea. Anthing else? What is your impression of the design? Colors?

Professional look . I suggest the font weight of top left menus should be bold to make it more visible.

Nice looking site. Just only problem I found is the position of "order now" buttons in webhosting.php page (I used opera 9.63 to view the site).

I agree that it might be in your best interest to invest in a new logo. Otherwise it looks really good.

Thanks for the input everyone. I will get to work on a new logo. So is it everyone's opinion is the FX part is to hard to make out?

justinlorder, I think you are write about that. As a matter of fact it should probably be a horizontal navigation but I am so tired of designing horizontal navigation.

Forum Poster, I didn't notice it in Safari and Firefox. I know the go button on the front page wasn't placed correctly in those browsers. Thanks for the heads up I will check it.

    Thank You

Looks professional enough. The logo definitely needs some work though as it's a little bit difficult to comprehend. I think maybe the colours are perhaps too bold against the sky blue background - with the constant red and blues, I'm very tempted to go get a pair of those 1980s 3D-Glasses just to see what it looks like!

The different pages all look good and fit in with the general theme of the site.

    PROS:

    - Clean design
    - Easy to navigate
    - Professional Look
    - Clean coding behind it

    CONS:

    - Logo difficult to comprehend
    - Maybe too many colour changes against light background
    - Site claims a doctype of 'DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional' yet fails on 78 validation tests.

    INDIFFERENT:

    - CSS is being used alongside tables for the site design, whilst there is nothing wrong with this as such, people will pick holes through it.

    _____________________________________________

Overall, good work, for the hell of it, I'd rate it a 6/10

    SanchezNI,
That is hilarious! If you do get the glasses and it works....I might just have to stick with this logo! lol.

    Thanks for the thorough review.

As far the tables....I know...I know. I can be a little old school sometimes. I really do need to quit doing that.
And as for the errors. Alot of those are from closing tags and such .... Um .... I guess I am being a little lazy. Never thought I would get called on it though. Thanks for keeping me honest!

    Thank You,
    KC

Your welcome...unfortunately, I can't find any of those glasses about. I remember having a pair for some book about dinosaurs as a kid but it's probably long gone.

About the site, you're right, there's nothing really wrong with using the tables, it's just rare to see tables being used along with CSS, most people I know go for one or the other, it fits back into the concept of keeping content and design as entirely seperate as possible. I'm not even 100% sure if that's been proven to have a major impact on things like SEO. A friend of mine has done their entire site based on tables and it's working well for them, so that's just a passing comment :) If it works for you, stick with it!!

As for the validation fails, yeah, you're right, it's mostly just tags not being closed properly and 9/10 you'd have gotten away with that but you were just unfortunate that a qualifed software tester decided to take a gander ;)

    All the best!

Actually I really should stick to one or the other. Tables, while okay, really is not the proper way to do it. Tables are overly combersom especial on large sites.
I don't think it has a an impact on SEO.
It is always a good idea to keep up good habits. Although improperly closed tags work now I don't think it will in the near future.

    Thanks

    I would suggest:
    1) Add a fav icon
    2) Re-design your logo
    3) Use more appealing colours throughout your site.
    4) Create a site map

Best of luck with the site!

    Kind Regards
