    Hi,

I need some web hosting recommendations for my busy small business blog, http://www.Noobpreneur.com

It's now run on SiteCloud's shared hosting, and thinking about to migrate it to VPS. No major problem, except excessive CPU usage, but I need the blog to run on a faster server.

I've tried SiteCloud's VPS but it's a real hassle despite it's being fully managed. I'm not sure whether it's just me who is a noob in VPS or the server is really troublesome.

Should I move to VPS or keep using shared hosting?

Your recommendations and/or suggestions are highly appreciated!

    Cheers, guys!

If you have not been alerted by your web hosting company, you should stay with your hosting company. Does the company offers vps you're hosted with?

The best to host is on VPS for higher CPU usage.

Try Dreamhost. I am running News Portal(other sites also) site in shared plan, with more than 5000 unique visits per day, and getting no issue.

Advantages are: No iNode limits, Best Uptime among all, all kind of CMS are ready to install & customized Private NamServer(without any pay). :)

I would suggest using a host that use cloudlinux and cloudflare. PM me if you are interested.

@314hosting - yes... the "alert" was getting my hosting account suspended for excessive CPU usage - LOL. They recommend me to fix things up to reduce load (which I already did,) upgrade to VPS or move to other web hosting (seriously - the support team recommend me this... talk about customer retention...)

I have used their VPS with 256MB, but even running a Wordpress blog crashes the server on regular basis - the support team then recommend me to upgrade to 1GB (duh...) I then move back to the shared hosting and start looking for alternatives.

    Thanks guys for the tips...

@DhrubaJyotiDeka - 5000 daily visits and no excessive CPU usage? Wow - what platform do you use, is it WordPress? WP is known for taking a lot of memory without caching plugins.

Thanks guys for the response, but unfortunately I can't still find the right one for me. All offers look similar and all claim to be number one (of course you won't claim your web hosting to be the second best!)

My question is this: How's your support? Do you offer 24/7 support? I always love Hostgator's support, but their servers are darn slow lately (at least this is the case for me) and they keep suspending my accounts (I own a resellers account) in the past 3 weeks.

Can someone recommend me cloud hosting offering always-on options? SiteCloud was offering this, but they no longer do so.

Try to contact the current customers of the web host provider of your choice and see if they are satisfied with the kind of services being rendered by the web host company.

I've heard good things about Rackspace Cloud which SiteCloud uses.

    @micksss - how's Rackspace support?

As of for Sitecloud - it just closed the affiliate program and will merge (or dissolve?) back to the big bro, GreenGeeks. Oh well...
