Last night the data center were all my sites were hosted shut down without warning the host......as a result, the host is also shutting down.....and i was left with no sites and no backup........

After trying to ravage what i could for googles cache....I am now in the process of choosing decent hosting....

    My requirements:

    24/7 support
no server moves or changes every so often
    large repuatable company
    guaranteed weekly backup

    Anyone has any ideas

Everyone on this board raves about www.asmallorange.com

I'm not sure what their backup schedule is though.

I've been using ASM for about 5 months or so. Their customer service is great. However, every few weeks or so there seem to be daily problems with their servers -- mySQL errors and the like. It's forced me to either upgrade my plan with them or look elsewhere. According to my post, it can and probably has affected my SERP's.

That's the first good thing I've ever heard anyone say about them. I just hope you never need any customer service. I had them for awhile, then had a problem that took a month or so to NOT resolve, then another two months to cancel my account and refund me some of my money.

I use nexcess.net for one of my sites and couldn't be happier.

I put my sites on webcs.com they have been great. Even copied the files from the old host to their servers. Very little downtime for me since I've been on there. I have 2 domains there now, and any other hosts that drop the ball will be changed too.

I also have 2 sites at powweb.com; they've been a nightmare with downtime and php issues.
