    Quite simply. Don't lend it to them at all. It's your private and personal possession and tell them exactly that. If they are your good friends they will accept your decision and leave it at that. If they argue with you then they do not respect you and they are not your good friends then are they?

    I think you should change the primiray boot device to floopy drive instead of hardrive and second to cd rom and third none ;)..or just change the jumper settings of hard drive.
