Without seeing your send_email.php file, it's very hard to offer advice. I'd suggest you remove the part that forwards the user to the Thank You page (thankyou.htm) and see if the page throws an error that could offer you any clues.
Try posting the contents of the script send_email.php here and maybe we could make some suggestions. Alternatively, ask over at: http://www.phpfreaks.com they have a forum and will be able to advise. Rgds
