Need Urgent Help to access MYSQL Database

    ERR: Communication failure during handshake. Is there a server running on 203.120.12.54:3306?
    ERR: No connection opened

    Hi i have this error above. Anyone can help?

    The database I am trying to connect is a MYSQL Database.

    Protocol I use is SQL

    Driver type is JDBC:MySQL
    Database: 203.120.12.54/database

    The statement is as below
    Insert Into Subscribers(USERNAME,PASSWORD,TIMELEFT,STATUS) VALUES('<Login>','<Pass>','0','1')

    Anyone know what is the problem?

    I could login using the same computer to access the Database using MySqL Query Browser...

    Okay, I'm getting it on this end too. It's strange though because I have another MySQL machine (with a newer version of MySQL) that I can connect to fine. One thing that I just thought of that might be a possibility is how MySQL changed their password encryption scheme in the user's table. My server might have been running long enough that it's using the old password style. Okay with you if I create a dummy/test user on the server with an old style password to test?

    by the way, I think you might be right..
    I am using new style password.

    This is because of other MYSQL browser software and of course webmin.

    Adrian, I'm helping shawn debug this and I didn't have any problem connecting to you. I have Shawn on the phone right now but he's in his oversided-SUV driving somewhere, so he won't be able to try again from his machine for a couple hours. So did flushing privs solve the problem for you?
