U.S citizen trying to register a canadian domain name
... i'm not allowed - not canadian, have no residency in canada, no business, and i'm not a member of an Indian band
    :)

... however .. i AM able to purchase these names and basically "hold them' for 7 days, until which time i am obligated to register these names with CIRA as an existing canadian resident (or any other form of acceptable relations i may have in canada)

...but from what i have been reading, and from what i understand ... i will actually OWN those names for those 7 days, correct?

    My question
... are these domain names 'movable' within those seven days?
... is it allowed and/or frowned upon to "discover" the available names and attempt to sell them within the seven day registratin period, thus allowing the buyer to register and declare those names his or hers? I don't see how different that is from regular domaining other than the rapid pace.

i look forward to your response.

    * * ** ** UPDATE + Answer (for anyone else seeking the same information):
i am being told that NO... i am not able to move these while awaiting registration with CIRA... the domains go into a holding pattern until they are declared a registrant, which is where they are now. If no registrant is found, CIRA will refulnd your money... i now have 7 days to register my new names with one of our canadian associates and i won't have to do this again for any dot-ca name again.

(answered my own question... hope this helps someone along the way)

Where are you trying to register the CA domain?

I have none but this is the first time I've heard there is a restriction since I'm always receiving invitations to register this extension, not needed for me.
