You could try long tail queries for celebrities. New ones appear and go all the time (e.g. watch American Idol). There are also typos or different spellings. For example, Rebecca Loos made the monthly Zeitgeist for Spain. But in the Zeitgeist they only spelt her name with one "c" (i.e. Rebeca Loos). I don't know whether or not this is due to a different Spannish spelling for her name. I used to get over 100 hits a day when I spelled Abi Titmus incorrectly.

A site about local beauty salons? I used my keyword tool to do some digging. The number 10 result for a "beauty salon" search on Yahoo only has PR2. Shouldn't be too hard to beat. Even better, you could aim for the term "beauty salon services", which includes "beauty salon". Writing a site about the services that beauty salons provide shouldn't be too tough. And you could have another set of pages with lists of salons by location. e.g. Beauty salons in New York, beauty salons in London etc...
I already see a lot of sites about recipes. Also, there isn't much to sell with regards to recipes. People may need ingredients, but they'll get them from local stores rather than the internet. Cosmetics are probably easier to sell over the net as they don't expire so quickly.
