I am not too sure to be honest. What are you retweeting? Sounds a little spammy to me.

I don't know if it will get you banned, but it will get people to unfollow you. If you want Twitter followers you need to tweet things that are interesting. Not the same thing 150 times. Just my 2 cents.

Get an rss feed from a trusted website in your niche.

For example, if my twitter account was about football, I'd get a football rss feed from the bbc.

I would then use twitterfeed.com so my twitter would start posting links to the bbc football reports.

Then I would mix in tweets promoting my own site into this.

Social media is about interacting with humans, supplying good content that these humans will be interested in, then also having discussion about the topic.

Don't spam it, people will ignore you

Well, if you have followers and you tweet them the same message ad nauseum, you will not have followers!
Plus a few could report you to twitter for spamming them.

Readers, we need your help with helping spread the 1M/1M movement through twitter. We have 88 ambassadors in the 1M/1M LinkedIn group at the moment, and 95 requests to join. We also have 100+ supporters who are not actively working on the project but are nevertheless helping spread the word. Over the last four months, we have processed over 750 requests to join. Those who have become ambassadors have committed to spend five hours a week on the program. Those who cannot, but still want to help, are on our supporters list. I am sure many of you also belong in this category of supporters who believe in the mission and would like to help in small ways.
