I hate to sound negative, but these are all red flags for experienced freelancers. It basically means, "I'll have you do a bunch of work for me and bend over backwards trying to get my 'ongoing business', and I won't pay you but a few pennies." If you're serious about hiring someone, get some trusted webmasters to refer you to someone good...and be prepared to drop some money up-front. Otherwise, you're going to get a bunch of noobs.
I appreciate the negativity though. However it seems you have just come across people who drop pennies for your work so you have ended up making such statements. May be if you had worked with someone who can drop $$$$$$$ for quality work then you wouldn't have said this
No...I get paid pretty well for my services...precisely because I've learned to not deal with those who raise those red flags I mentioned. And in the hope of helping other freelancers who are still just starting out, I thought I'd point these things out.
Just don't spam my Bebo or email box saying you are a hot girl and need help putting your pictures online, if I sign up to your dating site? hmm. Maybe you could run classifieds in local newspapers where they do the lonely hearts?
