Need to transfer leads database from notepad to Excel - any tips?

    Hello
I need to transfer over 2000 leads over from notepad to excel - is there any way to do it without having to manually separate everything into different columns by copying and pasting? Or am I just doomed?

Right now it is in notepad, each lead is on a separate line and with commas between fist name, last name, email, address, etc.

Right click on it --> open with... --> select Excel.

Then save as an excel document.

It depends what format it is in . If you and if it is the same throughout. If you PM me a sample can look at it for you. (I used to work with Excel)

If they are all separated by commas already, you can rename the file to .csv and then open it up with excel. This should put each entry into it's own column.

If every thing else fails, go to your local community college and pay a student to copy and paste.

It should be in a csv file, just set it to open in excel.

Thanks for the replies. I tried saving it as .csv and it still does not open and place itself in separate columns in excel. Maybe I am doing something wrong?
