Need To Sell Ad Space Desperately

I really need to get some cash flow to sustain my business.

It's still in the birthing stages but it gets around 400-500 visits and 5500 pageview daily. It got 70,000 visits last month and over 440,000 pageviews.

I literally have 50$ in my bank account right now.

If i just sell one ad space for 150$ I can re-invest and grow. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

I emailed 2 advertisers last week and got no response, I emailed 3 more today hoping to get a reply.

Anyone have any experience selling ad space ? I'm not interested in Adsense the ads they display are irrelevant and receive little clicks. [IMG]

PS: Advertising is not going to be my main source of revenue, in the future I plan on creating my own products but I need to generate some revenue to develop those products. Like I said I have 50$ [IMG]

Friend, I am not sure if you are asking for advise or trying to get some advertiser here. Maybe both. You gave a few numbers, which does not say how many unique visitors per day, and without even knowing what your site is all about, it is impossible to even give some objective advise or even try to point you in a direction. Products and service of many categories require different style of marketing and advertising. And if you just email to an "advertiser" I guess you saw their ads somewhere and try to lure them to your site. Sorry to tell you, will never work. A business like that receives possibly 10 or 100 solicitation to advertise daily and will not even look at your site, even if it would be the best solution for them.
Selling advertising space is a tough business and numbers like $150 for an ad definitely require some serious contact work and marketing strategy to get them to buy.
If your site is this strong and has some incentive for MAYBE a local business, you would have a chance to get a local advertiser, but like I said first above, we do not even know here what you are marketing. There are also JV possibilities if it is IM related, and so on...
hope I gave you some directional tip here, good luck

Last month you got 2,300 visitors per day, but now it's down to 400-500/day. I doubt any advertiser would be interested if numbers have fallen so quickly. What niche are you in?

One thing I'd suggest is contacting 100 companies per day. Sales people sit and call people all day long. Just emailing 2-3 people isn't going to get you far. I sold one of my websites to a company that sold the products that my website wrote about. But I contacted around 250 companies before on said yes. Took we a whole day building the list, but that is what you have to do to get a sale. If I'd emailed 2-3 I wouldn't have been able to sell it. I think you're underestimating the work involved. You need to sit down for a few days (8 hours per day) and email every company that may be interested. And maybe call some of them.
