Hi All, I am designing a small B2B site and client don't want to put online shopping. There will be categories/sub categories and product details including pictures. But no shopping or ADD TO CART button, can anyone tell me if there is any feature or facility in OSCommerce / Zencart to do this. Also if anyone can suggest me an alternate other open source application to make the above site then it will be helpful too. Thanks in advance!
I always liked opencart.com myself. A huge open one is Magento. Personally I find Zencart & OsCommerce very outdated and a huge mess to work with. The way the template system works in zend cart is confusing and hard to update when they release an update to the software. The OsCommerce is so branched that it is hard to figure out which one to go with and if you go with the main one it is a beast to get setup and running. Oh yeah don't forget Ubercart for Drupal it handles this VERY well. It's a highly developed Open Source shopping cart that will do everything you are looking for out of the box. This is a business to business web catalog, because you are not allowing any buying just browsing of what they have to offer. As for the shopping carts. You might ask on their support forums how to turn it off. They might could tell you a more direct way to do it.
