    Hello everyone...hope everyones well.

I'm re-vamping a Real Estate website and need to add MLS to the site. I understand MLS to be a Multiple Listing Service for homes within your area or state.

My question is...how can i obtain this database? Where can I go, about how much would it cost?

Can someone shed some light on this?

    Thanks so much...

    Drew

Most Multiple Listing Services are part of IDX. IDX is "Internet Data eXchange" a technology that lets brokers share their listing information with other real estate agents. Most websites with an MLS search are pulling from the IDX. IDX is usually free if you are an MLS subscriber but I am not sure how it works if you are not? What area are you in... you should probably contact the local MLS for the area you are building the site. I am a realtor in San Diego and our local MLS is "SANDICOR" but if you let me know what area you are working on I will try and help you figure it out.
    Hope this helps...:D

The data from each MLS provider that I have dealt with has only been available working directly for the Realtor client (e.g. broker in charge). That data may be available in one of several possible formats depending on the MLS provider: FTP downloads, database connection (e.g. mssql, mysql, etc.), or framed page. Nearly every single time, I have been obligated to sign a contract stating the use of the data, specific site where displayed, etc. to prevent open or inappropriate usage.

MLS data in Canada often comes with a monthly fee. Last time I checked, for the Calgary listings, it was $250/month!.

I am a linking specialist with a virtual tour company. I would simply like to find any contact information for every MLS in the United States.

What is the process of finding them? I am willing to dig if need be. I have seen some of the software here but I am not sure how to go about using it.

I currently build sites for the local agents. There are IDX feeds that you can incorporate into a site. You can not have direct access to an MLS without an MLS number.
