Need to market new car forum

    Hi there,

I have just started a new online car discussion forum and would like some advice on how to market it correctly. I already have a some dedicated members who are trying their best to keep the forum turning over. However, I am now looking to reach a wider audience to make more people aware of the board.

As I am new to this I have no real idea where to start, or where to draw people from. I have considered hiring forum posters to boost the content, but know little about that too.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I have also started a Facebook group with the same name and plan to use that to temp people there as well.

    Looking forward to your replies.

If your forum allows signatures which are do-follow let us know.

    Hi
I think what he means is to add a click able link to the ad when you post a signature.
You can have a click-able link with a picture in you signature as an Ad to your forum.
    thx

Search engine optimization is KEY for getting steady new forum members, also very tight anti spam, you can also try ad words to try and generate a few sign ups.

Also once you get a littler bigger try and get related blogs to post about your forums. You can also try paid stumble upon advertising to generate some exposure.

Thanks for your advice so far.

Does anyone here know of a trusted company that could work with the SEO of my site? I personally am not qualified in this department, so would need someone to do it for me.

    Thanks.

If you allow do-follow links in your signatures, I'd be on the forum all the time, so let me know if you do and what the website is.

Do-follow refers to the type of link you use. No-follow links tells search engines not to follow the link to the website that is linked to. Do-follow links let search engines flow through the link to the website linked to.

For example, the links in all of our signatures here on DP are do-follow.

If you allow do-follow links, you can gain tons of people from DP that will regularly post on the forums, as they will do it to gain backlinks to their websites from your forum. S, it's kind of like they give you content on your forum to help you out, and they gain backlinks to their websites to help themselves out.

So let me know if you do allow them, because I own an automotive website and would be interested in posting regularly on the forum if you allow do-follow links.
