Hey everyone, I am working on a high school student publication website and I want to convert the paper online, similiar to nie.miamiherald.com, where stories are clickable and expand when clicked upon. I only have the pdf files of the paper, but I don't want it to be just that. Any help on how to do this will be greatly apperciated. Please PM me or email me at Anthonycave5@yahoo.com Thanks!
Hey heatdolphins45! That sounds like quite a task you got on your hands. I would PM or E-mail you as you requested but I am sure there is atleast a couple other people out there interested in a solution as well (and having another post under my belt wouldn't hurt either =P). The only thing I can think of is if you get a PDF editor - I am almost sure they make those. That way you can add, delete, copy/paste information elsewhere, etc. From a quick google search "free PDF editor" and even "free online PDF editor" - I found a couple of possible solutions. Hope this helped in one way or another.
Adobe Illustrator is a great tool for pdf editing, though there are many free pdf conversion sites out there. What are you trying to convert it to? I don't think that I'm understanding what you're needing? You've got the PDF files, but what's included in the pdf files? The stories you're talking about wanting to be expandable? I don't know of an app that'll convert pdf into html, but I'm sure there's one out there. Are you wanting to pretty much show the information in the PDF's on your website, and have stuff inside the articles posted on the site expandable? That'd be your best bet, as I've never heard of a pdf that lets you do something of that nature. You can hyperlink text inside the PDF's, to other pdf's with the additional stories, but that'd be pretty useless when you could just make a site with half the work.
Well I want the pdf to be more than just a pdf, the pdfs contain the stories but I want a user to be able to click on a certain story that way it expands into the full story. Is that possible?
