Can anyone help me learn to design. I need to learn to design so I can do my own websites. If anyone know site I can go to to read or learn. Please let me know. It is kind of hard and confusing to me anyway. I have never designed before in my life.

It's a bit like making your own rocket ship. Anyone can draw a rocket on a napkin... but actually building it, and flying to the moon is another matter.
Design is the easy part (it doesn't really have to "work" for it to work).

You need to learn how to write basic html code before you can "do" your own websites.

As far as design goes, start by noodling around with a trial version of Photoshop (or GIMP, etc). You'll eventually learn how to 'draw' a website.
Then you need to get a decent code editor (PSPad or Notepad++) and start teaching yourself how to write basic HTML.

Try the W3C HTML tutorial (http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp) to get yourself started. Just make sure you NEVER use tables to layout pages. HTML is the foundation of every web page.

Next you will need to learn CSS (Cascading Stylesheets). A great book for beginners is CSS Mastery (http://www.cssmastery.com/). From there you should naturally find your own way.

Don't just focus on the technology though. Design principles are important but that will come with time.

    Good luck.

I recommend reading html/css books. Or actually one really good book should do the trick. Then expand your knowledge with tutorials :)

    Best thing is to start.
At first use Notepad and try some simple HTML and CSS.

I find that learning HTML together with CSS is best.
