Hi, I am from India and want to get my paypal account verified with the credit card of my friend. I dont have a credit card. Whether that is possible?
Yes you can do it that way... But I prefer not to do that. One way to do this is register the account from your friend\'s name. SO in future if your paypal got limited, you can easily remove the limitations. Hope this helps !
Thanks @Indian Webmaster. But could you please explain what is "paypal will get limited in future". And in so many cases i see people are buying vcc to get verified. Does it create a problem then?
If they get suspicious about your account your in trouble. if they dont there is nothing wrong with it. I have an account verified with VCC i use for shopping online. I am not spending big money but it works fine.
Hmmmmmm... Using either you're friends credit or debit card under you're PayPal account might lead to another banned member since you don't own the card. I suggest to re-apply for a VCC (Virtual Credit Card) of you're own to get started and if problem might arise, get help from DP.
Well, unless your friend has the same name as you, it would not be possible to use his credit card to verify your account. The whole purpose of verification is to ascertain that you are who you say you are and that you are residing in the address which you specify. However, using your friends credit card or even a VCC would defeat the whole purpose of verification. Generally, banks like HDFC Bank offers Netsafe accounts to its members which they can use to generate one time use Virtual Credit Card numbers for their personal usage in order to prevent fraud. These VCC are anonymous. However, some enterprising Indians have taken the opportunity to circumvent the loophole and sell their VCC numbers for profits while they are not supposed to under banking rules. Using a VCC to verify is going to be pretty much like using someone's elses identity to determine that you are you. Imagine like you borrowing your friend's Passport and use that to travel. Of course, the VCC is not going to be legal as it is identity theft and also a breach of Paypal terms. Once they find you out, they may limit your account and ask you to fax them your credit card statement and that is where you will land into tons of trouble. If you do not have a credit card, try applying for one. If you do not qualify then it is best to find some other means of payment processing instead of Paypal.

Yeah i wouldn't do anything like that , when you start doing high volume on pay pal . That is when they start looking over your account and put limitations if they see anything fishy. I just wish there was something better then pay pal , all the other services aren't widely used like pay pal is
You can verify your account with VCC but be aware that at any stage if PayPal asks you for confirmation or statement of your credit card and you don't provide it, your account will be limited for sure.
There is nothing wrong in using getting high volume sales through Paypal. The thing is that not many people actually read the terms and conditions and thus fall into violating something along the way. Firstly, if you use Paypal for virtual products or services, do not use the Email Send mechanism as that will open you up to a lot of problems in justifying the sales. If they are constant pricing product then use the Buy Now button and if it is not of an ad hoc basis then use the Email Invoicing System which are provided free for use. By doing so, you have some kind of evidence that you are complying with Paypal's regulation. The Email Send which most of you use are mainly used for casual receipt of money but not of a business nature. Most who do eBay will use this and that is why they will inevitably ask you for your invoice and all that documentation. Secondly, use only use a Premier account if you are a private individual or a Business account if you really have a registered company. Using your personal account for receiving payment just so as to avoid paying fees would be a breach of Paypal's terms and may land you into trouble. You are supposed to only use the personal account to make payments and receive money from friends if they owe you something. Thirdly, always have documentation such as Invoice for all your transactions through paypal be it printed or virtual so if Paypal ask for it, you can provide it. Forthly, always verify your Paypal account and use only your country's bank-issued Credit Card so that you have documentary proof that the account is yours. Do not use VCC or fake details as it is a sure-fire way of getting your account limited. Fifthly, cooperate with Paypal fully as and when requested. Sixthly, do not deal with anyone who does not have a verified paypal account as they are the main cause of frauds and can lead you into trouble. If you receive any incoming payment through an unverified account, reject the payment and refund the money, no matter how tempting it is to receive it. Once you follow the above 6 rules, you should be safe.
why dont you get prepaid credit card? In Malaysia we have prepaid credit card where people can apply for it and 100% approval guarantee as long as you 12 and above. I was using it to verify my paypal.

Hey Guys ! I also have a limited paypal account reason: "unusual or potentially high risk" I sent my Id and statement. After i received a mail about more requests: "Fax tracking information for the last five payments received into your account" WTF? Anybody know what is this for?
Well, like they say, they found that there are some suspicious transactions during the last 5 days for your account and they just want you to provide invoices and sales receipts for the last five incoming payments to your account. Just comply with them if you want your account back. Did you do anything which may have violated their acceptable usage policy like do money exchanges, deal with unverified persons or the likes ?
I just sold some "digital delivery" items on ebay. Have no invoices about it !! Ammounts was: 7.99, 24.99, 4.99, 7.99 All the buyers are verified. Any idea? Thx
