Need to hide from search engines

    robots.txt is good for hiding from the search engines. If you want more protection then you can create password protected directory.

    robots.txt is the weakest way. Not all SE's respect it. Plus they will still index other sites pages that link to your page.

    htaccess PLUS noindex meta tag is a bit better

    password protection is best
