Hi, I recently made my first adsense site based on the mis-spelling of a celebrity name. It shot to the top of google and msn and yahoo and I'm getting about 1300 impressions and 110 clicks a day, but they are about 3 cents. I need an idea of changing some text and getting up to 10 cents a click. Or should I take adsense off the site and make my own ads pointing to higher paying sites (that I would have to create)?
that is an obvious situation what adword advertiser would target his seriosu business on misspelled keywords ? a typical advertiser i guess uses correct spelling to target his audience hence if you use misspelled words google finds no ads to be displayed and all you get may be cheap ads or public service ads the real competition is in the real keywords i assume
I don't think celebrity names spelled correctly or not will bring in much revenue. Highly targeted affiliate programs would probably work better in this situation. For example, sending visitors to landing pages at half . com that are offering the celebrity's movies/music/work for sale. You might also want to set up a mailing list where you could offer deals from affiliates concerning that specific celebrity.
Based upon what kind of celebrities these are I could see some ringtones/wallpaper affiliate banners bringing in some potential cash.
hi, here the issue is not mis-spelling of a celebrity name. You get google ads not on the site name but on the content so unless you have all the content full of mis-spelled names then it might make a difference. Any how right or misspelled name celebrity sites almost always gets ads below 10 cents. Its a simple equation, celebrity site means high traffic but low paying ads, and lawyer site means very low traffic but high paying ads . So you are stuck with 3 cent ads if you choose to use only adsense. Well you can try adding more content focusing on different field for example discussing gadgets and cars baught by your celebs and things like that. try and see how it works for u. good luck
Websites made on themes like wallpapers, teen forums, celebrity fan sites are unlikely to bring $1/click. 0.5 or 0.05? Those clicks can be for PSA's too, whereas you were payed on CPM basis.
