Need to build traffic on new site suggestions please

I have started a new site called VistaBorders.com that is going to feature vista wallpapers as the main theme. I am wanting to promote it on the right forums and sites. We are running contests to attract new vista wallpapers from artists, but need to build the traffic pretty quickly so that we can have a good base to showcase their work. Any suggestions would be helpful on some good places.

In order to determine your traffic building strategy you need to be clear on who your target audience is and how your revenue model works. Once you know your target audience you can do some keyword searches on search engines to find forums, blogs and other sites targeting the same group.

The best way for quick traffic is probably to pay for it ... but depending on whether you are making money from the site or not you may not want to spend anything just yet.

 

Trading links also help you get more people come to your site

 

For that particular topic I'd go for a quick adwords campaign, get in quick before others jump on the boat.
From there just get links from IT/Windows related sites - theres so many of them out there so it cant be too difficult
