I am planning to establish an e-commerce site. And I need to know something about web hosting companies, there are some e-commerce sites which also gives a commerce script as well as hosting plan. There are also open source and free e-commerce scripts such as oscommerce. I can not decide whether or not find script apart from hosting service or buy them together from same hosting company.

There are many factors you have to take into considertation before deciding. For example, how heavy your site will be to detmerine how much disk space you will require and so on. It all depends on your business type.

If you are just starting I would go with the smallest package available as you can always upgrade. In the start you probably won't be getting enough traffic for it to really matter so might as well not waste money by paying for the largest package for $20-$50 a month.

Yeah I had the lowest package on Godaddy and a website that was Alexa rank 110k and it worked fine. For the average website GoDaddy is fine and even lets you upgrade your package easily with more space and bandwidth. Once your website starts pulling in massive amounts of traffic then you can get your own server, but more than likely you will not see it for awhile.

If you are going to have an e-commerce site you should make sure to have SSL.

That depends on how big your site is and on how much traffic it gets. Do your homework, you have to test a hosting plan yourself to see if it is good ;)
