Need to advertise a website to college students! what to do?

DP members are always so wise and helpful, so I thought I would come here for advice.

My new company/website, http://www.ZeusEvents.com is targeted to college students, specifically those in fraternities and sororities.

What would be the best methods of advertising? My budget is around $1,000.

And currently I'm using Ad sense and Facebook Ads.

    Thanks ahead of time.

Your best bet is to find forums where students hang out and participate in those forums

I have to say, I love your website, well designed!

for advertising have you tried sending flyers to Universities... (you might have to find out if that is legal or not xD)
but forums were they hangout are good... I think some Universities have there own little fangroup forums try them...

also have you tried PPC campaigns?

Check out Facebook, Facebook is filled with college students. They have a ads program where you can target your group and advertise on facebook. I think it is facebook.com/ads if not then just google Facebook ads and you will find it :)

You can buy banners from related forums.
You may also try orkut communities.

Hmm, if paid advertising fails for you then you might want to change up a few things. I pay about $50/day in adwords but make about $500 off paying the $50. Well close to $500. Either way, I still make profit from it. I guess it all has to depend on what you have to offer. Free advertisment is also great.

It could be best if you will submit your site in educational forum and websites

I Appreciate the help, all of those were some great tips.

Currently, I am doing facebook advertising, which is really the best PPC advertising I am going to get for this traget market. Like you guys suggested, I am about to expand my advertising to forums and blogs. Also looking at press releases and articles. In a few months I plan to do promotional giveaways on campuses in the US.

    Thanks for the help.

Im new to this, but he seems to know what hes talking about and I was shocked at the click through rate. His username on here is clarkeson, you can pm him.
