Need tips on setting up an art exhibit in my apartment

My goal is to have a pseudo art show in my apartment whenever the mood strikes or whenever I host.

I want to run a slide show of paintings and sculptures, not pictures or images, just paintings and sculptures. Flickr is a wonderful program for running a slide show comprised of images and setting up a pseudo photo exhibit, that I know.

I'm looking for a program that, like Flickr, allows you to run a silent slide show of paintings and sculptures, without audio and without commentary, just like Flickr. I want to run the program on my computer and then run it over to my 47" HDTV.

Ideally, like Flickr, this program would show thousands and thousands of paintings and sculptures that are shown in a size that would fill up the entire monitor, without margins. And, just like Flickr, I would hope that it's freeware, although I know beggars and desperadoes can't be choosy :)

Anyone know a program they can recommend that matches what I have in mind?

What am I missing here? Can't you just use the flickr.com slideshow with Firefox on fullscreen, or even with the "Full Fullscreen" addon?
Or even the built in Windows slideshow?

Why I can't use Flickr: because Flickr, an image host, contains images shot with a camera. I want to run a slide show of hundreds or thousands of paintings (Van Gogh, Picasso, etc) and sculpture.

Why I can't use the slide show in Windows My Pictures: because I don't have any images of paintings and sculpture saved in My Pictures. And because it would take forever to load hundreds of images of paintings and sculpture into My Pictures. I'm looking for something 'pre-built', ready to run. A program or utility of some sort that comes with all the images representing the work of famous painters and sculptors and not so famous artists, too.

Maybe it's me who's missing something and if I am please set me straight because I have yet to find what I'm looking for...

    Gotcha :)
I don't think you'll find an application with pre installed images (at least not very good ones).

It might take an hour or two. Just look for some torrents of great painters, or simply hunt around the net and find some sites with high res images of famous paintings. Then you can use something like Downthemall to download them.

Lots of reasonably good quality images here:

Granted, I took only a quick look at the link you provided. And I did a quick search on Downthemall, something I've never heard of before, and I must say I'M EXCITED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITIES.

I'll explore both of 'em as I go along, and if they out to be what I need, I have no problem devoting 4 or 5 hours (say from 5am till 11am) downloading all the paintings and sculptures I can lay my eyes on. My goal would be to download as much art as necessary to run a 60 or 90 minute slide show without seeing the same image twice. I am very grateful for your assistance.

    Thank you Kerosene!

Oh my...if you could have heard the sigh I just let out moments ago when I googled and found out 'how to google extra large images'. I never knew that was an option! I admit, I never noticed that option before. Apparently Google offered it in late '07. Oh boy...

    A big thanks, Kerosene!!
