Hi Guys! I kind of need tips on how to Effectively Launch my Website. I was thinking of throwing in a Big Contest .. but I am having hesitations as well since it's going to be my first day on the world wide web. Next, I was thinking of a Press Release. Then maybe some freebies of sort? Any tips you want to share with me.. this is sorta my biggest site in years.. and I am having cold feet. I feel like I want to make a good impression on my site Launch.
Depends on what kind of site you have. Whats your niche? If I were you focus on the traffic first. Whats the point of the contest if you dont have any traffic?
I think the best way to launch is via a number of different methods, advertise, PR and link exchanges. Buy some advertising space on a number of sites that attract your target audience, maybe get 1-2 Press Releases submitted both via PRWeb and manually to a number of related blogs, and then try link exchanges with other related sites in your niche. A few months after that when you have got a good solid handle on your traffic.. run your contest..
right guys.. no point in running the contest on the first day.. that is going to be such a stupid move. thanks for that.. also, thank u for that tip.. i should try to advertise on blogs of the same niche for exposure.. anything else?
When I launch a new website, I do not spend a cent on advertising. I find that a far more effective way is to provide quality information from the start (if your site is information based). This means a lot of hard work in writing articles however it pays off in the long run. After a while you will build up some loyal readers and if your site is of good quality, it will naturally build up backlinks. This does not mean not to build backlinks. I recommend to mainly do blog commenting and link exchange with relevant sites. I hope I have helped.
A press release could be a smart move, however don't forget to apply the rest of the Seo book, like building good content, links and directory submissions. Once you get the traffic a contest is a great marketing tool. Success with the launch of your site.
