My site's alexa rank is 60,287 and my friend's alexa rank is 29,352. I am having more page rank, traffic, google backlink, yahoo back link and indexed page when compare to my friend's site. What is reason for this alexa rank and how can i overcome this problem? Thanks in Advance!!!
Alexa rank is an extremely unreliable metric, it's based on the visits of people with an Alexa toolbar - it's easily manipulated and has no use. I wouldn't give it a second thought.
In my observation, alexa seems to be worthless lately. Some people claim that over the previous two years it was already losing reliability, but lately it went completely nuts. Whatever they did on the last algorithm update, it messed up their rankings badly.
Yes, I would not worry about the Alexa numbers, especially if you are seeing an increase in PR, traffic, Google backlinks and Yahoo backlinks.
Thats great reply. I also observe that when website has not uniue visitors then it little improvement in alexa. Its unreliable.
Alexa rank is slow in updating, very approximate and still so unreliable. So it is always possible that websites are ranked wrongly. But, it is still possible that your friend is getting more traffic ( somehow ) than you. More backlinks and more indexed pages does not mean more traffic. But more traffic means more alexa. To achieve a good alexa rank. Submit your complete site details on alexa and add alexa code in your website. You must also look for more traffic methods other than organic traffic.
