Buying Need System Admin quickly MySQL Problem

    My MySQL server just stopped working! It wont start i get errors

    [root@install init.d]# ./mysqld status
    ERROR! MySQL is running but PID file could not be found
    [root@install init.d]#

    its a directadmin server

    Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/admin/domains/birthdetails.com/public_html/app/database.php on line 22


    if anyone can help me immediately its urgent my gtalk is please message me asap
