Need suggestions regarding affiliate marketing:

    A brief intro:

A couple of weeks ago I launched my first website related to beauty and fashion. Now, I have started optimizing it (building links, submitting to directories, etc.).
The site has 16-17 unique posts/articles , and everyday I am getting about 8-12 visits on an average. I am expecting more traffic in the coming days. I also will be uploading 2-4 articles every week.
I have not put any advertisements on the site as of now.

    My question(s):
Is it the right time for me to start using my site for affiliate marketing?
If yes, then how should I go about choosing as well as promoting a product?
If not, then when do you reckon would be the right time?
What all pre-requisites should I have before venturing out into this field? Which affiliate network is the best to begin with?
Any other tips/suggestions you'd want to give.

    Stats:
    Website URL: http://beautywithfashion.com
PR: 0 (though I have bought a few one way links recently and submitted my site to 200 directories).
Daily Traffic: 7-12 visits per day.
    Domain age: Almost 2 years
Site age: Less than a month.

    Waiting for your suggestions.

Thanks for taking out your valuable time.

You can use any site for affiliate marketing instantly. I don't see any reason why not to do so.

You should choose products according to the content and subject of the website.
if your site is mainly about hair care, go for hair care products.
if your site is mainly about skin care, go for skin care products. i'm sure you get the idea.

You do not sell affiliate networks are you? you should focus on the products you would like to sell first, once you have a few you would like to compare the commission rates offered and all the rest.

after all, it is better to promote a good conversion product for less commission than a bad selling product for high commission.

    hope this helps a little

I would agree to start now, there is no good reason not to, I would also add more content then you are planning to (2-4 articles every week).

You need to understand what people are looking for when they visit your site before you know what to sell. If people are interested in hair conditioners and you are selling shampoos, you will not make much sales. Putting up a whole load of banner on your site will affect the credibility of your site as it will be seen as a sales site instead of informative. Good luck
