    Respected Members :)

Let me introduce my directory first: http://www.mydirectorylink.com

It is going nice. But I want it to make it better.
It got both free and paid submission. I get about 5-6 paid submission per month. :(

It is running in its 9 month now. I used to have adsense in it but studying on other directories and some members suggestions, I was told that adding adsense is not good idea for to make Quality Directory. So I took it off.

It was PR1 for first 4 month and then it became PR 3. Now its predicted 5 which I am not too sure about.

Anyways, coming to point, I like to earn just $40-$50 from my directory. What can I do for this.
I am planning to put couple of advertisements in the right section of the site.
So can you guys guide me how to go about it. My Plan is to put 6 links each with $10 per month.
    Will it be good?

Thanks for your time and support.

first i can tell you that pr can not be predicted no doubt.
and the script is pretty load fast, but looks poor.
    you can advertise on DC,
there is still several spaces right now.
the submission fee is cheap but i am not sure if it's reasonable.
mark up the price once you start advertising the directory around the web.

Nice domain. You won't make much from sitewide link sales each month. I'd only be willing to pay around $20 a year for a link like that I'm afraid.

You will also run the risk of losing your PR or at worse a SERP penalty if you sell links.

submitters only look at PR and nothing more than that

If you have PR3 in your inner pages then you can make as much as $150 from your directory

    Some might disagree with me

But I have stats to support me....

From my experience so far I would say just get your PR up, also it may be an idea to submit to directories with good pr and that offer Deep Links like mine, this will help the page rank of your innner pages. Once you get good page rank then you will start earning good money.

    Good Luck.

I say PR is important because after visiting these pages they could have submitted but some thing forced them away from the site,it's nothing but PR....

    digitalduke,

Not a bad site, but I see nothing special about it that sets you apart from the other 1000's out there. So when a non-webmaster punter (corporate business) asks you why is your directory special or why should he pay you - how will you sell this to him?

He could go down the web road and find a highly specialised niche site that sends him the exact visitor type that converts better for him. So how will you compete with that?

You have a lot of categories, some are filled to an ok standard, but many are empty - this is a real turn-off for visitors and you want to get it filled. Lots have a big zero (0) beside them, and it's disappointing to see that, honestly, that's a serious problem as I found out from bitter experience, and can be very costly!

On searching your Category 'Shopping', it says you have 1'144 companies listed, but on manually counting, I find only 244  , is there a reason for this, because this could hurt you as well.

The web is competitive enough, but visitors hardly give a 2nd chance to web businesses that don't deliver. They won't bookmark an empty site.

Thanks again for your support and suggestions.

I will take a look at this right now.

I am also seeing lots of submissions made in Featured listing without payments. There are many many submission each day like this. I dont know how or why people choose Featured listing and who do not wish to pay. If they had done it regular submission, I would have approved them all. But right Now I am deleting all those kind of listings. I see many Quality sites who choose sponsored listing but wont pay but unfortunately I delete them all.

Is this an accident? because I know when you submit in eSyndiCat Directories, when you choose the categories, the pricing options get reseted to Featured lists and this really bothers me. Or is there any way to correct this?

I am also thinking to change to better version of directory script.

Thanks again all for your huge contribution.
