Need suggestion regarding changing the url

I am not a designer.I have own a website. I want to change the url structure.My site built in html.i have some internal URL which are not SEO friendly. Want to make them SEO friendly.

Example:

Currenturl is www.abcd.com/aboutus.html
i want to make it www.abcd.com/about-us.html

So kindly give me some suggestion how i can do it.Can i do it by using cpanel or ftp.

You can just add the dash in the pages, and in the file names.

gotlivechat is right but don't forget to unredirect once your new page has been indexed

you should use 301 redirect to make sure that you won't loose any customers and traffic from Google Search Result!

 

Actually url depends on file name.
You can change your url by changing file name.

 

rename directly the name of the file will be complicated because you will need to change all link on each page (especially because u use plain html site) so like the other said, better use redirect method

 

If you do not have much idea about what you are doing then you should not do that.
