    You can use the google site map generator. You need ssh access to your box and it needs to have python 2.2 or above to use it. You can have it generate the sitemap from your server log files. I find this is the most effective way to generate the site map. It might not get 100% of your pages, but it does a really good job of finding them. Plus the time involved in setup and generating a fresh file on a daily or weekly basis is pretty low compared to other methods of creating the file.
