My new site just launched here. It got a decent traffics but much less CTR on my affiliate, about 035%-2.12%. What did I do wrong? What can I do to make improvement and encourage people to click on my cell phone affiliate much more.
The area you have your affiliate links is widely used for ads and banners. Lots of your users are probably ignoring it because they are used to ignoring that area of the screen. Try placing some affiliate links at the bottom of your top 2 posts. Create a new page on the site with a title along the lines of "Hottest Cellphone Deals". Just 2 thoughts that popped into my head. If you're wanting to sell something....don't be afraid to sell it. I don't see a 'call to action' anywhere on your site. Most cell phone consumers are looking at phone selections and prices....take your customers hand and lead them there! tonybogs is correct - link to interior pages with anchor text such as.... 'Click Here to see the Hottest Cellphones' and 'Click Here to see the Hottest Cellphone Plans' (if you offer that as an affiliate) and sprinkle those type of links wherever it makes sense. Test this change and see what happens to your CTR.
