    hello

here i want share my little experince with migration wordpress to blogspot
currently, 4 days ago i am bit frustrated with one of my blog, the earning was decrease this month, i use that on self hosting VPS, shared with my another site, that site using wordpress and using a lot of resource (wordpress), i worried everytime i make new post this site will have bigger resource each day , my daily visitor average 2,500 last month but this month its decrease to 1,500 daily, so i think the income from this blog doesnt equal with the resource consume my vps. so i think i want try to move that blog to blogspot, with moving all content (total 100 post) and direct with custom domain to blogger.and i sucess move my blog to blogspot

right now its been 4 days running on blogspot platform, my site are worst then before, my visitor only 400 daily :(, and also earning was getting worst, in this situation i feel doubt with this migration, should i move back to my old wordpress or i go continue with this blogspot with patiently keep updating my blog to get all content to be index, because with blogspot i can do more efficient with my monthly budget (not using vps resource) and also i can freely using larger image on blogspot

so what do you think, is anyone here has the same experience with me,

maybe it will be better if you keep migrating to new blogspot. You just need to do SEO technique again and link building to your new blogspot in order to get visitor

NEVER host anything on a free platform like blogspot unless you have absolutely no other choice, it is always better to use your own hosting. Blogspot can remove your blog anytime they want for any reason and delete your entire site. Put your site back onto your VPS hosting. Go back to doing whatever SEO techniques you were using to get the visitors to the site in the first place. If you do the work, the visitor counts will go back up, as will your earnings.

Why would you want to go from self hosting to blogspot. You have absolutely no control over your content there, just like dyorn said. I think that was a bad move. My advice is to move back to self hosted wordpress.

you don't need to rebuild , you can forward old domain rankings to new and can continue with normal work

Did you maintain your URL structure ?

That could lead to loss of traffic for sure.

    Hi Pointsense,
I have used both WP and blogger. And from my experience I tell you , blogger is the best platform suited for blogs which are run in the view of ad revenue.Think of this in wp when did you start getting 400 visitors per day and you say you got it in 4 days from blogger. All I wud suggest you is be with blogger and see the magic.Because with a TL custom domain + blogger + regular updation is the key to reduce your alexa ranking thus getting good amount of traffic. One personal experience of mine is , I hav used both but images that you use in blogger are much faster crawled and they appear in image search. But none of my images in wp site is crawled by google inspite of using effective alt tags

what i found is wordpress uses a lot of resources both bandwidth and cpu and i've seen a lot of self-hosted wordpress blogs showed message: bandwidth limit exceeded. actually if you don't violate the blogspot's rules, why worried of blog getting deleted? so i think it's not a bad idea to move to blogspot, but you should try it for the first couple of months to see the difference
