    Hi Guys

I am looking for someone with hosting and WHM experience.

    Here is my problem:

I bought an existing hosting company with 100 clients. I have already transferred all the clients' accounts to my new dedicated server.

My problem is that I want to point the old domain to my new hosting company. I do not want my clients to update their NS settings to the new company themselves.

The company I bought (lets say Domainx.com) had its own NS settings and IP addresses.

My own hosting company (lets say Domainz.com) has its own domain, NS servers and IP and is on a dedicated server.

    Can this be done?

Are you just trying to get the old domain to redirect to the new domain? If this is the case just set up a simple URL redirection. I don't think this is what you are asking though. Explain a bit more perhaps. Are you trying to completely phase out the old domain?

Why not update the nameservers for all accounts?

Why not point old NS to new IP addresses, if that's possible.

    Hello there,

Do you have control over Domainx.com as well, or, just the clients? If you do, create an account with Domainx.com on the new server, and give it it's own private name servers. Then, go to the registrar for the domain, and change the IP that the current name servers point to. Once it resolves, all of the clients will be pointed to your new server.

If you have control over Domainx.com then its possible.
But again, if any client is using A record to point to old server, he will have to change IP of A record.
