Need something like bans, but slightly different

Here is what I need:
A user clicks on a link that has a item number embedded in it. It takes them to my site and displays the item just like it would in BANS. On the left will be categories that will actually display my own auctions based upon a certain search.

Is this possible?

Anywhere I can get some framework from to get started? I know some PHP and can figure most issues, but dont know where to start.
