    There's not much to do, or know, really. As long as you're not using cookie-cutter content that hundreds of other sites are using, you take care to optimize the site's page title, work on internal linking for related pages and ping your feed after updates -- you'll probably get a decent amount of traffic over time just from that from search engines. People go nuts over movie download sites and though you might have a lot of competition for generic keywords, video-specific keywords are much easier to grab search traffic for so long as your content and on-page optimization is decent.


    There are so many different ways to monetize this keyword market that you just have to do a bit of trial and error with various programs to see which converts the best for your site. Think Amazon, Netflix, VPN services, paid file download services, Usenet, etc - there are a bunch of different monetization options you could plug into a site like this.

    If you're going to jump into the riskier market of linking to / offering file downloads, you can make money from the downloads themselves, make money when people purchase file download accounts, or use adf.ly or something like that to make money.

    I have a couple of sites in this general market (though not specifically movie-focused) and a couple of years back I ran a tv-show-focused site that did quite well in terms of grabbing search traffic with nothing other than good on-page SEO and pings. I'm not volunteering to be your 'guru', but I'm only saying that if you have unique content for something as popular as this, you can get some decent traffic without having to go nuts with link building.
