Hi, I need someone to fix my vds server. Almost 2 months ago I switched my hosting from a shared hosting account to a vds on a popular register site. However since the transfer I have not been able to edit the homepage. I can get into my control panel or go in through an ftp program, however when I go to upload it after I edit, nothing happens. I contacted support, they said everything is fine . This is the errors I get when I go into my control panel and click on ftp: CommandFailedException: Error getting ftp settings at c.g.t.f.systems.ftp.LinuxFtpSubsystem.loadSettings:285 at c.g.t.w.actions.ftp.ActionFtpConfig.process:47 at c.g.t.w.actions.AbstractSpringAction.execute:118 ... at c.g.t.w.filters.AuthorizedResourceFilter.doFilter:38 ... at c.g.t.w.filters.RequestPopulationFilter.doFilter:117 ... Cause: IOException: java.io.IOException: Cannot allocate memory ... at c.g.t.f.util.ProcessUtils.exec:35 at c.g.t.f.util.ProcessUtils.exec:28 at c.g.t.f.systems.ftp.LinuxFtpSubsystem.loadSettings:240 at c.g.t.w.actions.ftp.ActionFtpConfig.process:47 at c.g.t.w.actions.AbstractSpringAction.execute:118 ... at c.g.t.w.filters.AuthorizedResourceFilter.doFilter:38 ... at c.g.t.w.filters.RequestPopulationFilter.doFilter:117 ... I really dont know what to do. If you think you can help please pm me. I cannot pay that much so $10 will be payed for someone to fix. Thanks
Its not your fault, tell them to give you temporary ram boost and see if it helps, if they do not burst your mem then close all other functions of your vds and try again.
st1905, I contacted them and they apparently checked everything and said its fine. However it cant be fine since the errors occur. When I called up they said something like I may need to update the server since there is new software available, like Fedora Core 6 or something. Not sure if this would help though.
Same problem here on my Fedora VDed. It just popped up out of nowhere sometime between today and 4 days ago, when I added a few new domains. I haven't changed anything else aside from that in the meantime. I stopped Apache (log in through SSH, su to root, `service httpd stop`) and restarted the control panel (`service turbopanel restart`) and then I was able to log in to the control panel and change my domains just fine. After that, I restarted Apache (`service httpd start`) and everything's OK. It seems like it actually is just a memory problem. Probably from all the updates that they're doing to the other Linux VDed systems as they roll out the Fedora 6 updates. Turbopanel does use Java in its backend, and lord knows that takes enough RAM. I guess just wait a while and they'll address the issue. I sent in a trouble ticket, just in case.
Thanks for the info , I was having the same issue. Restarting apache and turbo panel and all works now!
