Need someone to do some menial work (changing image formats)

I have about 100 images that need to be changed from various formats into 24-color .bmp

It isn't hard at all, and wont take long.

Anyone interested?

I would have actually recommended you saved yourself some money checksum.

Batch Image resize, reformats etc are an extremely common feature in image editing applications these days.

Macromedia Fireworks is one of these and one that I have used before and can personally vouch for.
