You're smart to focus on the headline (title) and the first paragraph.

If your title isn't catchy, it'll get ignored.

Even if your title is catchy, if the reader doesn't read a BLUF statement and stay intrigued in the first 25 words, they're off again.

If you want a second set of eyes before you submit/release let me know; good luck ;)

Yes so very true , people often make the mistake of writing with the false thinking of "if I write it they will come!"

Instead it's better to keep in mind just how much written material out there in the sea or articles called the web.

Make it stand out ... A title like "Life Insurance" will quickly be passed over for the article with the title of "Life Insurance Fraud Exposed" or or even something as crzy as 'Get Paid to Die" (example)

A guy once placed an auction for his kid sister on ebay, but when you came to what was for sale it wasn't that at all.

The title caught so much attention that it went around the world in minutes

He made a killing cause he was creative in his title!

I know I cannot write real well as far as my grammar, so I leave that to Mrs.Crow , but I do now a catchy headline when I see one.

I run a small PR firm, and regularly write releases for website owners. I'm running a special this month at $25 for all press release writing, with a 24-hour turnaround during normal business hours. Rates are $35 / release if it's absolutely required during weekend hours. If you're interested, please contact me at . I'll happily send you a sample if you'd like.
